Use good posture.
Proper positioning helps increase oxygen intake into your system. Often, we feel tired because we're just not getting enough. When you yawn, that means your body is craving oxygen. When you feel a yawn coming on, use that as a cue to pay attention to your posture. Practice deep breathing exercises when lethargy hits.



Exercise throughout the day.


Once you take in oxygen, you can increase blood flow to disperse it through your system. Achieve this, by taking a short 3 to 5 minute break every hour and take a brisk walk/jump rope/mini-tramp/do lunges/etc.. This is especially great for those who work at sedentary desk jobs.


Eat smaller portions at mealtime and add snacks in between.

And the snack does not include Bugles or Brownies from the vending machine down the hall !!! Snack on homemade trail mix that includes lot's of nuts, seeds and dried fruits. At meals, try to east most of your fat and protein at breakfast time when you need them most. Keep dinner light on fat.

Consume Enough Water for Overall Health.
One of the best ways to make sure you stay healthy and energized, is by drinking at least eight (8) cups of water daily. Not only is water necessary for overall health, it can heal. I know someone who was developing skin ulcers on the bottom of his feet and when he went to the doctor, he was told to drink lot's of water. The ulcers cleared up after about a week. Are you getting enough?

Focus on Happiness
Nothing zaps energy faster than negative emotions. They happen, but, when you find yourself in a state of resentment, anger, or anxiety, find ways to release those feelings and get yourself focused on what you want and remind yourself that you do have a lot to be grateful for. If you're not living in a van down by the river, you're doing good. Although, to some, living in a van down by the river sounds like fun. Which exemplifies the idea that our own thoughts and beliefs are really the only things affecting our emotions. So get happy, be happy, live happy and that's the best energy amplifier of all. ~ Polly W.
