Friday, June 5, 12, 19, 26, 2009   6:00 - 8:00 PM Synergy Meditation with Alan Schneider   Meditation is one of the most effective ways to begin accessing the Universal Mind and Consciousness".  Meditation is also the psychological "royal road" to relaxation, health, and enhanced self awareness.  The attainment of the "synergized meditative" state becomes a matter of great ease with practice.  Relaxed breathing is one the most effective ways to enter the meditative state of higher consciousness. In this workshop there will be a half-hour lecture followed by a  15-20 minute guided synergy meditation then, move onto a discussion and Q&A period to share what they experienced and  to ask any questions of the instructor. $15.00

Sundays  -  4:00 - 6:00 PM   Acoustic Jam/Open Mic  Join us for 2 hours of music-making!  We gather in a circle and take turns sharing any song you'd like to do.  "Feel free to bring song sheets so others can follow along, or we'll just pick it up as we go.  If you don't play and instrument but like to sing, come on down and we'll do our best to accompany you.  The emphasis is socializing, connecting, making music, and having fun!           No Charge

Enabling healing, freedom, and joy by incorporating movement, sound, breath & stretching, combined with art techniques and journaling. If you answered yes to any of these questions, then join Mary Simmons, RYT-500 , and learn this gentle yoga series.  The Joint Freeing Series takes each joint of the body gently and systematically through its full and natural range of motion.  We begin with the feet and ankles, move up to the knees and hips, then on to the spine and end with the neck.  Class will end with an extended relaxation pose (Savasana).  You will receive a hand-out of the Joint Freeing Series for your reference. Please bring an eye pillow for Savasana if you wish, a small towel and paper and pencil for taking notes.If you can breathe, you can do this series of gentle yoga movements!  The Joint Freeing Series is appropriate for yoga students of all ages and levels, including beginners, those who are recovering from injuries and illnesses and those who are wheel-chair bound.  Individuals with limited mobility due to injury or arthritis may find the Joint Freeing Series especially beneficial. $15.00 (limit 15)

Friday, June 26  7:00 - 9:00 PM  The Purpose Art Plays in Humanity: Presentation by Free Arts of Arizona-The Therapeutic Experience of Creating Art          Whether child or elder the experience of being creative offers the potential to heal or transform one's life.  This month we look at the use of art as it is offered to abused, homeless and at-risk in the metropolitan Phoenix Area through Free Arts of Arizona.  Then, we will enjoy an inspirational short video on a poetry writing workshop offered to a group of elders in a California retirement community.   We'll weave it all together by co-creating an art project that reflects our uniqueness as a group.
