Yerba Mate Tea Comparison

Yerba Mate Tea
A staple in South America,  this naturally sweet tea increases energy and boosts mental alertness.  It has also been shown to boost immune function and weight loss.
While it does contain some caffeine, it has been reported to have a more relaxing effect than coffee and without the insomnia effects. It is recommended to be consumed moderately even though it is a much better choice than coffee.

Roasted Grain and Chicory
Blends with roasted chicory and grains are commonly used as coffee substitutes because they have a coffee taste, but no caffeine.  Chicory is rich in vitamins A & C and aids the body's ability to absorb calcium. It is used to treat intestinal parasites or worms and other ailments involving the liver and gall bladder. It is often prescribed to patients with gallstones. Thickened with honey, it is a safe laxative for children as it increases the flow of bile.

Ginseng Tea
Ginseng is an herbal tonic which means that it helps the body adapt to stress.  Ginseng also increases libido, balances blood sugars, settles the digestive system and improves stamina. Ginseng tea can be made from fresh ginger. Use about 1 inch per person. Peel and slice into slivers. Place into a cup and add boiling water. The longer it steeps, the more beneficial it will be. Add lemon to taste or for additional health benfits.
