A Checklist for Achieving Homeostasis

  • any analogous maintenance of stability or equilibrium, as within a social group

 

Feeling a little unbalanced?

 

Consider the following BODY, MIND & SOUL reminders about how to achieve homeostasis:

Body

Air ~ Cardiovascular exercise is an excellent way to increase your bodies ability to take in more cleansing, life giving oxygen! Go one step further and stop polluting the earths atmosphere by driving a Hybrid!

Water ~ Drink lot's of it. (not tap) It's best to drink it on the hour all day long. You need somewhere between 6 & 12 cups of water per day. Drinking plenty of water helps dilute toxins in the body and ensures improved functioning. Go one step further and drink oxygenated, alkaline water.

Nourishment ~ No matter what kind of health diet you are on, they all encourage the consumption of lot's of fresh fruits and vegetables. Especially dark green vegetables. A good rule of thumb is to eat 80% fruits and vegetables with every meal. Go one step further and study about pH Balanced/Alkaline diets and use pH testing strips to measure progress

Mind

Thoughts ~ Are you constantly looking for solutions because you know they exist? Are you convinced that there is no solution? People who believe they can, often will. People who don't think they can, surely will not. What do your inner voices say?

Focus ~ Do you feed your mind with valuable knowledge or are you placing too much importance on things like vanity & convenience? Do you revel in laughter and joy amongst those you love or are you constantly looking for reasons to judge and blame everyone around you? Put more focus on positive emotions! Let go of negativity as it arises.

Change ~ Are you receptive to new ideas? Can you roll with change? Change is invevitable; be aware of changes that are not valuable and those that can move you forward.

Soul

Practices ~ Do you practice prayer or meditation? Do you follow the moral behaviors as prescribed by your religion of set of social beliefs? If you knowingly ignore what you know to be right, this can have negative repercussions on your ability to achieve balance in your life as well as lives of others, even if it doesn't seem like it at the time. It's just as difficult to do the right thing as it is to do the wrong thing.

Understanding ~ Do you understand why prayer & meditation are good practices? Do you understand why certain behaviors are better to engage in than others? Even if you've spent your life studying the doctrines of your religion, there is likely much more to know. Is there something you are particularly curious about? Try exploring other religions and philosophies. Set aside an hour or two per week for discovery. By increasing awareness you can more quickly ascend to ultimate enlightenment.
